Please read these rules and terms carefully before submitting your film.
By submitting your film to compete in the Rabat-Comedy International Film Festival, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you will be bound by these rules and terms.
All films that are not in English must be subtitled in English. Subtitles need to be embedded in the film. If you also have for your film subtitles in French and/or in Arabic, you can also submit them with your film in SRT file form.
The submitted films must belong exclusively to the comedy genre.
Submitted short films must be no less than 3 minutes and no more than 29 minutes long.
Submitted feature films must be no less than 70 minutes and no more than 150 minutes long.
All submitted Films must have been completed after January 1, 2021.
Submitted films must be accessible through the FilmFreeway platform in order to be seen by the film selection committee members.
The deadline for film submission is April 15th , 2023 at 11:59 PM.
Accepted films will be notified around May 15th, 2023.
No postal and mail submissions are accepted.
During the festival, selected films can be screened more than once and are scheduled at the discretion of the festival staff.
Selected films must be digitally transferred to the festival in a FullHD screening format, by June 1st 2023. Furthermore, 6 stills from the film, a director’s head shot photo, the film poster, a synopsis and film information must also be transferred to the festival at the same time.
Participants grant the right to use excerpts of the films submitted and accepted, for promotional purposes.
By submitting their film, participants confirm their rights on their film. It is their responsibility to obtain all legal permissions for any copyrighted material that may be used in their film.
The rules, terms and conditions above may be subject to change at the discretion of the festival commission which also has the right to make decisions on matters not provided for by these rules.
